I don't want to shed any negative feelings towards the slain vicitm or towards the family of the innocent child taken from a family in Bailey,Colorado last week. I don't feel we've learned anything from the columbine tragedy.
Our children are exposed to violence everyday through television but most in the communities we live in. We all watched footage of columbine. We mourned with each parent in our hearts for there tragic lose or loses and we come to yet another school shooting again.
Many folks are going to say well it was one instead of bigger numbers, but the truth is no one should have been killed or taken out in a body bag. We live in a era of terror, it's going to get worse before it ever see's better. I'm a father 28 years old have 2 children one in 2nd grade and my son just turning 4.
We install metal detectors in problimatic schools, we place security guards in areas where problems occur on a more everyday bases but why do we fail to Protect our children by the most simple method that works well..........LOCK THE SCHOOLS DOWN DURING PRESENT HOURS!
In my town this year, a child around age of 13 was convicted in adult court for possesion of a gun. Peoria,Illinois.
We talk about what actions need taken but once the story dies out and nothing is said about it, we fail to stay the course and protect our children. Schools need to be on total lockdown during a childs presence.
